Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Nijude mobile app and website, and any paid features or subscriptions you order through them. Please read them carefully before placing an order or using the service. By creating an account, placing an order or otherwise using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Who We Are and How to Contact Us

The services are provided by Nijude ("Nijude", "we", "us" or "our"), based in Leeds, United Kingdom.

Nijude is a mobile app that helps flatmates record, split and settle shared household expenses. We do not hold your money, act as a bank, or provide payment services between users. The app records who paid what and calculates who owes whom; any actual transfer of money between flatmates takes place outside the app and is your responsibility.

2. Using the Service

2.1 Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a binding contract to use the service. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity carried out through your account. Please tell us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised use.

2.2 Accuracy of information

The balances and summaries shown in the app depend entirely on the information entered by you and the other members of your group. We are not responsible for errors, omissions or disputes arising from the data users enter.

2.3 Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service. In particular, you must not:

3. How an Order Is Placed and Confirmed

Core features of the app may be available free of charge, while additional features may be offered as paid options. Where you wish to purchase a paid option, the process works as follows:

  1. You select the feature or plan you wish to purchase and review the price shown.
  2. You enter the details requested and submit your order. Before you do so, you will be given the opportunity to check and correct any input errors.
  3. Submitting your order is an offer to buy. It is not yet an accepted contract.
  4. We confirm your order by displaying a confirmation page and sending a confirmation email to the address you provided. A binding contract between you and Nijude is formed when we send that confirmation.

We may decline an order, for example where a price has been shown incorrectly, where we suspect fraud, or where the service is unavailable. If we decline an order after taking payment, we will refund you in full.

4. Prices, Payment and What Is Included

All prices are displayed in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT where VAT applies. The price you see when you place your order is the price you pay; we will tell you about any additional charges before you submit it.

5. Your Right to Cancel

5.1 Statutory cancellation right

If you are a consumer and you purchase digital content or a digital service from us, you generally have the right to cancel within 14 days of the contract being formed, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. To cancel, email [email protected] or telephone +44 113 950 3264 with your name, the email address used for your account and the order you wish to cancel.

5.2 Starting the service during the cancellation period

If you ask us to begin providing a paid digital service before the 14 days have ended, you may lose your right to a full refund once the service has been fully provided. Where you cancel after the service has begun but before it is complete, we may deduct a reasonable amount for what you have already received. We will make clear at checkout what you are agreeing to.

5.3 Ending a recurring plan

You may stop a recurring plan at any time by contacting us or by using the cancellation option in the app where available. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless we tell you otherwise, and you keep access to the paid features until then.

5.4 Refunds

Where you are entitled to a refund, we will pay it without undue delay and no later than 14 days after we agree that you are entitled to it, using the same payment method you used for the order.

6. Complaints

If something has gone wrong, we want to put it right. Please contact us at [email protected], by telephone on +44 113 950 3264, or by post at 34 Dewsbury Road, Leeds, LS3 9YB. Please include your name, the email address linked to your account and a description of the problem.

7. Your Statutory Rights

Where you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms affects your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Digital content and services must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose as described, and supplied with reasonable care and skill. If a paid digital service is faulty or not as described, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, price reduction or refund.

8. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.

Subject to the above, and as far as the law allows:

We aim to keep the service available and secure, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may suspend access briefly for maintenance or updates.

9. Personal Data

We handle personal data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018. You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of them, email [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK supervisory authority for data protection.

Advertising measurement runs only after you have given consent, and only on the order confirmation page. If you decline, no advertising measurement takes place. 11. Changes to These Terms
